It is my pleasure to invite all professionals and colleagues who work in the mining industry – in particular those involved in mine operations along with related companies and universities – to participate in the MININ 2010 Conference, which will be held in Santiago, Chile, at the Sheraton Hotel & Convention Center from 23 to 25 June, 2010.

MININ 2010 represents a unique opportunity for all those who specialise in mine operations to share work, experiences and to interact with an important group of professionals with an extensive background in areas such as: sampling & geostatistics, mine planning, geomechanics & geotechnics, joint mine operations and the optimisation of mine processes.  During the conference, works related to expansion & new projects, comprehensive management of the mining business, the mining economy and innovations in mine operations will also be presented.

Our objective for MININ 2010 is to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience among executives, professionals and technicians, and to motivate the participation and integration of international lecturers and authors.  This will be an exceptional occasion to discuss ideas regarding how to improve our mine operations processes by applying our best abilities and innovating and creating value in a worldwide economic outlook that offers great challenges and opportunities to think from a different perspective about the permanent search for more critical results.  For this reason, we hope to enjoy the participation of all mining companies that have operations in Chile as well as representation from international companies so that MININ 2010 may be an outstanding experience.
