The Fourth International Conference on Mining
Innovation – MININ 2010 – surpassed our expectations and proved
itself to be a
well-recognised international forum that put technical excellence
first. The
event provided industry professionals with a unique opportunity to
interact
with their counterparts from different countries, sharing ideas and
experiences
on a variety of subjects related to innovation in the mining
industry.
The Conferences’s two-day technical
programme
included 51 presentations, four keynote lectures and was
well-complemented
by 12 poster presentations, eight of which were student projects. The
participation of InnovaChile in the poster session offered a platform
for all
delegates to become informed about those projects supported by
InnovaChile in the
mining industry in Chile. A very
interesting and well-evaluated two-day short course on Project
Evaluation and
Real Options was given prior to the conference.
Different presentations and discussions
related to Mining Technology, Expansions and New Projects, Mine Unit
Operations, Mine Planning, Mineral Economics and Finance, Ore Body
Evaluation
and Rock Mechanics and Geotechnics took place during the two days of
the
conference. The unique opportunity to exchange information and
experiences was
well-appreciated by 185 representatives from mining
companies, universities, research centres and service & equipment
providing
companies from all over the world.
